When disaster strikes, immediate action must be taken to minimize hazards to human health, property damage and the environment. We have been providing these services for more than three decades with an on-call Emergency Coordinator available 24/7.

Emergency Coordinators

Emergency coordination for W. T. Byler Co. is provided by members of the staff on a 24-hour per day, 7-day per week basis. It is important that emergencies be dealt with in a calm, logical, safe, efficient and cost effective manner. These individuals are responsible for coordinating all emergency response measures and are trained professionals. The Emergency Coordinator has the authority to commit our company resources and to dispatch outside contractors in emergencies including:

W. T. Byler Co. emergency coordinators arrange for clean-up, storage and disposal of all released materials. Should a release, fire or explosion involving hazardous substances occur, the emergency coordinator would respond and provide coordination for control of hazardous substance releases, collective emergency actions and assistance to local responding emergency-services-personnel. Examples of our emergency response include the following event:

Within 24 hours of Hurricane Ike, W. T. Byler Co. was first responder to Galveston Island removing debris from railroad right-of-ways. Utilizing hundreds of our personnel and our Houston yard as the hub-of-operations, we performed emergency services throughout Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Houston, Nacogdoches, San Augustine, Sabine, Trinity, Angelina, Brazos, Grimes, Walker, Polk, Tyler, Jasper, Newton, San Jacinto, Hardin, Orange, Montgomery, Walker, Harris, Liberty, Fort Bend, Chambers, Jefferson, Brazoria, Galveston, Wharton, Matagorda, Jackson, Victoria and Calhoun counties.

We provided aerial damage surveys, damage control, procurement, temporary quarters, heavy equipment services, equipment transport, fueling, temporary power, warehousing and small equipment services. We also constructed staging areas and temporary roads.
