Behind each famous building is a great story of a commercial construction project and owner that used innovation and engineering brilliance to bring their particular dream to reality. These companies have helped shape our cities and communities.
ExxonMobil Campus - The Woodlands
Major Site-Preparation Project -- The Spring, Texas
Force peaked at 224 craft workers and 156 pieces of construction equipment. Scope included:
- Selective clearing & grubbing of over 400 acres
- Constructed over 6 miles of haul / access roads
- Excavated & embanked over 4 million cubic yards of earth material including tunnels, drainage structures and levees
- Constructed 2.5 miles of JRCP ring-road
- Completed all undergrade utilities & storm water systems
- Mechanically stabilized earth systems including 45,000 SF of retaining walls & 18,000 SF of earthen slopes.
WT Byler Co SSHE records included over 750,000 work-hours with ZERO OSHA recordables. Environmental recovery reported over 550,000 construction equipment hours with ZERO recordables. The campus included construction for 14 low-rise office buildings, three parking garages to accommodate more than 10,000 employees, large central campus commons, laboratory building, child care center, and a comprehensive roadway system with bridges, a state-of-the-art central utility plant, and all new utility services to the project site.
Bay Area Business Park
Performed the Heavy / Civil site work for a state-of-the-art Class A industrial development in Pasadena, Texas
- Excavated 20 acres of detention pond and placed to line and grade 461,000 CY of earth material
- Constructed 1.2 million SF of buildings pads 4 FT thick manipulating 6% lime every eight inch lift
- Lime stabilized 114,210 SY of parking
Principal Global Investors received Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) for the large industrial park near the Port of Houston at the intersection of Red Bluff and Bay Area Boulevard
Hilton Convention Center Hotel
The Hilton Americas - Houston is the jewel in Houston's crown
- Performed deep excavation for 1,203 room hotel structural concrete cut-off wall and slab
- Soil stabilization
- Final grading flatwork and parking
The hotel is connected to the George R. Brown Convention Center, one block from the arena, two blocks from Minute Maid Park, and minutes from Houston's theatre district.

Ritchie Brothers - Houston 126 Acre Site Including 93 Acres of Parking
- 250,000 Cubic Yards of Excavation & Embankment
- Storm Water System Installation
- Blended Lime Fly-Ash Soil Stabilization for a Total of 11,000 Tons

- Imported and Placed to Line & Grade 240,000 Tons of Crushed Concrete / RAP
Completed construction phase-one 80 acres in six-months
300 Acre Horse Race Park
Final grading, stabilization, base and asphalt for Sam Houston Race Park including buildings and grounds with capacity of approximately 18,000 patrons featuring:
- 10,000 Car parking area
- 2 Racing ovals; a 1-1/4 mile dirt track and a 1-1/8 mile turf course with \"chutes\"
- 196,700 square-feet Grandstand
- 30,000 square-foot Pavilion
- Infield area and racetrack
- Equine veterinary facility
- Stakes barn for visiting horses
- Receiving barn
- Holding barn
- Isolation facility
- Animal facilities including 16 barns capable of housing a total of approximately 1,200 horses with stalls for onsite stabling, tack rooms, hay and feed storage areas, grooms' quarters, wash racks and four outdoor walkers

Interport-Baytown Phase I & II
Performed the Heavy / Civil site work construction for Cadence McShane
- Site clearing & grubbing - 90 acres
- Earthwork cut & fill - 260,658 CY
- Imported select fill - 101,240 CY
- Lime stabilized parking - 118,234 SY
- Lime stabilized phase - 2 building pad utilizing on site common fill placed in each 8 inch lifts - 324,450 SY

Marathon Park
Performed the Heavy / Civil construction for an industrial park as a sub-contractor to E. E. Reed in Pasadena, Texas
- Imported 103,725 CY of select fill for 725,000 SF of building pads
- Excavated 4 acres of detention pond and placed to line and grade 83,795 CY of common fill
- Lime stabilized 84, 410 SY of paving
- Constructed an industrial spur track
